Crisis Management and Post Trauma Support
Recent research has highlighted the importance of a range of initiatives that work together to provide a coherent response to trauma.
These include risk assessment, training and education, policies for managing incidents and counselling provision in a range of different modes. Oakdale is able to provide a full Critical Incident service.
Our service takes into account both the particular characteristics of the organisation and the individual needs of the employees in the aftermath of a traumatic event.
Our perspective stresses the individual nature of the response to a traumatic event and avoids a directive approach that might be experienced as invasive and undermining of the individual's natural resources for recovery.
If an incident occurs, Oakdale is able to:

Provide direct and immediate support to individuals involved should this be necessary

Provide immediate support to line managers in working through the issues that should be considered

Arrange a programme of support in the days following the incident
The interventions will depend on the circumstances and the responses of the individuals involved. We will help work out what is needed, both immediately and in the days and weeks following the incident.
