Northumberland PCT

The NHS in Northumberland recognizes that, each year, nearly a quarter of us have difficulties with common psychological problems such as anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, phobias and anger, as well as problems with regard to relationships, work or debt. Because these difficulties have a considerable impact on our lives, this new service has been set up to make appropriate help more readily available to those who need it.

Oakdale and Mental Health Concern have formed a partnership to provide psychological therapy services to the people of Northumberland. This partnership is called MHCO (LLP). MHCO delivers the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service in Northumberland in line with the Department of Health’s guidelines and evidence for effective treatments published by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
